Are all nintendo DS games compatible with one another?
We are attending a bday party where boy is turning 7. I asked mom for bday ideas and she said she was getting him a Nintendo DS.
Can I get him any Nintendo DS game?
Will they all be compatible?
Party is Mario Cart themed so I was going to get a Mario game.

You can buy any DS game. You can NOT purchase a 3DS game.

Just make sure she isn't getting him the 3ds, that is the newest one they have out.
So the 3ds has its own cartridges and cannot use the other DS games, correct?
Mom said she was planning on getting him the newest one.
Ugh. I think I may just buy the birthday boy a Mario Cart toy, like knex or something like that. The mom did not buy the system yet.

You can get him the Mario DS case. this was he has something to carry it in. They have them at Target or Toys R us by the games. Also Toys r us carries lots of Mario toys in the boys section.

I am just going to get him a Mario toy. I texted mom a few min ago and no response yet.
If it were my 1st grader, I would probably buy the cheaper Nintendo DS since DS wouldn't know better. It is a big price difference.
