are cancelled stamps worth any money??
ok... so we bought the house DH grew up in from his parents. which means, he never was forced to really move out, and his parents saved EVERYTHING from when he was little ( hes an only child). its rediculus! his old bedroom closet is still FULL of stuff from he was little ( papers from middle school, old books, etc, etc, etc. he refuses to get rid of any of it... so i thought i might just "go though" some stuff while hes at work today and i'm off. so.. i found a couple shoeboxes full of stamps- i think his parnets must have saved every stamp from every letter they ever got most of them are cancelled and have the marks on them. would it be bad of me to throw them away? i mean i get that some of them are neat, but having black marks across them kind of takes away from it- LOL

Some can be worth a lot of money, but if they are all relatively recent they probably won't be worth much.
There is book call Scott's Catalog - it lists the value of all US stamps issued in various conditions (including cancelled).
YOu could go to a stamp/coin shop and sell them as a group.
Good Luck

It depends on how old they are, they probably aren't worth much though.
