are mobiles worth it?
The bedding I got for the babies was discontinued so I couldn't get the accessories. So I don't have a mobile.
Are mobiles worth it? and if so please recommend yours!
thanks

Re: are mobiles worth it?
Yes but not the ones that go with the bedding sets IMO. My kids were obsessed with the Tiny Love mobiles and it would keep them entertained every day so I could shower, or eat lunch quickly, etc. while they were small.

ITA! The ones that come with the bedding are a waste, they are boring. Get a tiny love one, all three of my kids have loved them.

Re: are mobiles worth it?
SO not worth it IMO. there is such a short time you can use them IMO...once they are big enough to sit up (6 mos usually) they can pull and grab at it. And before that - I felt she was either too young to use it (newborn) or that it was a complete distraction and kept her awake when I wanted her to be napping. Big thumbs down on the mobile in my house...returned our tiny love one. But - as you can see everyone is diff...some people swear by them.

Re: are mobiles worth it?
i returneed the one i got from the bedding because it didnt fit the crib properly.
i ended up getting on by fisher price thats a mobile and projects a scene to the mobile part once your child gets older you remove the mobile part and just use the projectile protion.
i am pretty sure the tiny mobile ones are like this too.

Re: are mobiles worth it?
The ones that come with the bedding I don't think are worth it. I have the Precious planet projection mobile and DS loved it. I had to take the mobile part out a few months ago because he was standing and pulling it. I still have the projector in his crib and he loves to watch it at night. Plays music also.

Re: are mobiles worth it?
Tiny Love ones rock! We had the entire thing in (with the mobile) until DS was like... 10 months old I think. Then when he started pulling on the mobile part, we took that part off and left the base/music box piece on the crib and he turns it on every night when we put him in his crib (he's almost 14 months old!).
Definitely great.... but NOT the ones that come with the bedding sets. Those are a waste.

Same for us.
DS loved the Tiny Love mobile. Not the one from his bedding set.
He also loved the rainforest one from FP.

ditto, the music on it so pleasant, DS turns it on in the morning and chills out till I get him. I took down the part that spins around it was much too stimulating for sleep, but it was fun to watch kind of the same way baby Einstein is.

Re: are mobiles worth it?
The tough thing about this question with so many baby items is that the answer is always--it depends on the baby. Some babies love love love the mobile and it is the only thing that can help them chill out or sleep in the crib a bit. Other babies have 0 interest. Like with a swing--my first DD practically lived in a swing for 10 months. My second DD took maybe one nap in a swing and screamed every other time she went in. DD1 didn't care at all about the mobile. DD2 liked it, and still uses the music box portion of it at 15mths.

We have this one...DS is still using the projector part at 18 months old. If he wakes up in the middle of the night, he puts it on himself and goes back to sleep...

Re: are mobiles worth it?
We still have DS' mobile up but he's never paid attention to it. Now he just tries to pull it down when he stands to wait for us to get him.
