Are most of your mommy friends new friends you made after you had DC or old friends who had babies around the same time as you?

None of my good friends have children yet. I basically had one friend who was pregnant right when I was pregnant and we became a lot closer. Unlike me, all her friends had babies right around the same time so she introduced me to her friends.

Were most of your mommy friends old friends or new friends you made after you became a mommy?

Mostly new friends- all of my friends had kids before me.

I have a handful of friends who have kids, but the majority of my friends I met through baby activities, including my closest friends here.

All but one are new friends and I can't tell you how much I love them! I'm so glad I found them!

I was the first of my friends to have a baby. I had my 1st in 1999.
I had my 2nd in 2007 and all my friends either just had a baby or were pg with me. So now there's a bunch of us and its great! I was alone for a while but it was worth the wait.

My "real" mommy friends - ones I talk to on the phone every day, ask questions, commiserate with are friends I had before - only one has a DC exactly my DC age but the others have some older some younger -and, all in, I was one of the first so there are not that many.

Most of my new mommy friends are more like acquaintances - I meet them out at classes and the park and we talk and maybe get together for play date here or there but, I wouldn't consider them "real" friends - and it does bother me that this is the case. The thing is, in my area it seems most of the mommies are older with multiple children some older as well so their lifestyle is different and that makes it hard...

I was pregnant with two of my closet friends and my sister and SIL had kids before me. I also met one new Mommy friend through my DH.

most are new friends I have made since becoming a mom.

Most are new--my friends had their children long before me.

most of my mommy friends were friends before DS.... my problem is that none of them live on LI (PA, MD, Bahrain)

all my LI friends have older (school-aged) children....

Most of my mommy friends are new. I lucked out, because there were a few other pregnant teachers at my school the same time I was pregnant, and we all had girls within a few months of each other, so we pal around, go for walks, etc.

Other than that, we've met a lot of new moms while we're out shopping, at music together, etc. Most of our friends back home are still dating or engaged, and we were the first to have kids.
