Are there a lot of dads who go to gymboree or my gym classes
I want to enroll DD this fall for some sort of class but I am due in November. I know most of these programs run about 19 weeks. I don't know if I should have DH take her for awhile after I deliver or do you think I will be ok to take her after 2 weeks or so? I hate to stop it in the middle.

You should absolutely have DH take her! I signed up Athan at "My Gym" two weekends ago (he goes every Saturday) and Chris and I alternate weekends taking him (so that one of us gets to sleep in). There are about 10 kids in the class and at least 4 dads so I say yes - dads TOTALLY go to these classes and your DH should take your DC! Chris has fun going!!!!

Thank you!! DH would definately take her but I know I would miss it too. Is there a lot of activity that the moms have to do. Would I be able to take her again a couple weeks after my c-section?

I really like the set up at My Gym (we take Athan to on in Alexandria, Virginia abut I am sure they are the same through out). As soon as the children get there, they have 5 minutes of free time to run around and play with all the toys/slides/balls/trampolines, etc. Then all the kids an their parents gather around a big red circle for circle time. They do 2 fun little songs where you touch toes, toes nose, etc and stretch out their arms and tap their feet. Then they do a quick "freeze dance" song where you hold your child by the hand and dance around the circle till the music stops an you freeze and then start again. After that for the rest of the hour, it's free play. I wouldn't say there is a lot for the parent to do, but you are chasing after your child every second t make sure they share, they don't fall, they play nice, etc. They also do little gym activities during this time where you take your child and help them walk across a straight plank, or play in the swing, or crawl through a tunnel. What you may want to do is go with your DH and child and watch and participate for a while. That's what I did last weekend. I went with them and I was able to play with Athan as well. See how much you can handle. Check with the instructor first to make sure it's OK - I cannot imagine it being a problem. There is another family where the mom AND dad go and another where mom and grandma take the little girl. It's all about family fun!!!!

Absolutely! We have a ton in our My Gym class including my DH It helps having two people there so if DD wants to do more challenging things that I'm not strong enough to help with, he is there to help her.

Re: Are there a lot of dads who go to gymboree or my gym classes
Especially on the Saturday classes. At Gymboree, on the Saturday class, there were often more Dads than Moms.... the weekday classes during the day, there are much less Dads. Not as many SAHDs as SAHMs. I went to a lot of DC's classes, since I had a lot of time off over the last few years recovering from surgeries, plus I have every other Friday off, so we would try to schedule classes for Fridays so I could make half of them.

We took DD on a weekedn to a gymboree type place and were both shocked how many dad's were there! It was so nice to sit back and watch Mattea interact with her daddy like that since it's usally me and her while he's working!

Absolutely!! DH has taken our DD several times when she was going. We had one dad who came to every class and I never met the mom.

I have Abby in Music Together and Little Gym classes during the week this summer. No Dads - lots of grandparents and nannies. HOWEVER, the Saturday classes are filled with Dads.

Yes - I take DD to My Gym in Plainview on Saturday mornings and there are more dads in my class than moms!

DH and I take DD to a Saturday Gymboree class and there are a lot of dads there. Sometimes he goes without me and he is comfortable.
