Are there any Mommies who arent ready to give up the bottle
DD just turned 1.....she is my 3rd and last child I am not ready for her to grow up yet I told the Dr that yesterday and she said basically I have til 15mths old and thats it Mom
DD never really liked her bottle that much but lately like the past 3-4 weeks she has been asking for it over the sippy and dragging her blanket around with it and its so adorable
I know its not good to go much longer but I may just cry when I take it away

Re: Are there any Mommies who arent ready to give up the bottle
I still have DS on the bottle - he is turning 1 tomorrow. He uses the sippy cup as well but definitely prefers the bottle for morning and nighttime feedings. I don't feel a need to put a time limit on it. I'm just going to gradually wean DS off.
I wouldn't rush the process - do it at a pace that you and your DC are comfortable with. None of my friends had their DC completely off bottles by 12 months. It takes time, and you have to do what works best for you.

Re: Are there any Mommies who arent ready to give up the bottle
DS will be 15 months soon and he's still taking his milk in the bottle ..and I am in NO rush at all to get him off it (nor is my pediatrician giving me pressure to get him off it..)
He drinks his water or juice like a champ from the sippy cup all day long and at meals.. so I know if I pushed it I could get him off the bottle (with a small fight since he loves his bottles of milk!) but I'm just not ready to do it. Quite frankly I don't think there is anything really wrong with them still being on the bottle at this age anyhow.. they are still so young really, and I know that it'll happen eventually and at our own pace.. I don't see the need to 'fight' him on this when he loves it so much..
Plus as you said.. it's the one small way he still acts like my 'baby' in a way and I'm in no rush to give that up yet either(he's been SO independent from day 1 that I think I hold onto these times for just that reason )

Molly is 15 months and loves her bottle. SHe drinks from a sippy with water, miilk, juice, but sometimes she will just insist on a bottle and I'm ok with it. She is just cute...she sits on the couch, twirls her hair and enjoys her bottle. No harm.

DD will be a year on the 25th and I am in no rush to get her off the bottle. To me she is still a baby and she enjoys it. She does drink water/juice from a sippy cup but milk goes in the bottle. I wouldn't worry about it too much and you can always tell the doctor yeah she is off of it. LOL. They don't need to know everything.

Re: Are there any Mommies who arent ready to give up the bottle
Bryan will be one next week. I have been putting his formula in a cup at dinner time and sometimes at breakfast. He falls asleep with his lunch time bottle. He does really well with juice too in the cup. I am in no rush.

Re: Are there any Mommies who arent ready to give up the bottle
I have you all beat i think. DS just turned 2 and I still give him 2-3 milk bottles a day. I dont really see the big deal. I drank one until I was around 3. He could really care less about them but I feel he is still a baby. My ped said whenever I wanted to stop to stop. During the day he drinks juice or water from a sippy cup. maybe by 2 1/2 i'll stop giving them to him. We'll see...

Re: Are there any Mommies who arent ready to give up the bottle
My son is 2 and he likes a bottle at bedtime, I don't keep it to keep him a baby, I just keep it because he likes it at night. He has sippy cups in the daytime and he would have a sippy at night, but he seems to prefer the bottle and I have no problem with it.
