Are there any natural redheads who have gone a different color?

Need suggestions, please. I have been talking about this for so long. I am a typical natural redhead with very fair skin and freckles. I have had this same hair color all my life and would love a change.

I am just scared of changing my "virgin" hair. My late mother adored my color too and told me to never touch it. I would just love to do something different. Maybe a very pretty brunette, I have always wanted to be a brunette.

Any tips for a fair skinned redhead? My skin tone makes everything so complicated. I don't want to appear to washed out.

i've done blonde, and brown...

but i always looked washed out as a blonde, but brown was nice...it warmed me up a bit...but once i had my son and he has the same hair color as me, i wanted people to realize we were mother and son...and now all i hear is "oh so THAT'S where he gets that red hair!"

i'd say go for a brownish, but a warm brown...perhaps they can incorporate some of your red as subtle highlights and to give it more depth.

Why not just get some chunky highlights on your natural color?

It would really change your look but still keep with your gorgeous natural color

I have natural strawberry blonde/redish hair and fair skin and I did this and loved it! Some of my family did not agree but they always wished they had my natural hair and didn't want me to touch it, wasn't so much that they didn't like it. I kept some of my natural, some low lights (very brown) and some highlights. And my hairdresser used semi-permanent so it eventually washed out since I was nervous. Good luck!
