Re: are those motorized cars really worth it for the $$
DH begged me to get the Cars one for DS this Christmas. He's 13 months old. It's still in the box but I can't see him using it until spring when he's closer to 18 months. Worth the $$? Probably not, but DH NEEDED to have it for him.

I know when I was growing up I had always wanted one, but my parents never gave in. All my freinds had them, but I was the only one who didnt.. So, I know I will get one for my DS when he's older ... waste of money...absolutly! LOL... I survived fine without one, but I still think they are pretty cool. Prolly will only be used on the warmer months tho...def not an indoor toy

DS has a John Deere tractor that he rides everyday when its warm out. He's definitely gotten enough use out of it

Same here-always wanted one, never got one now I will get one for my kids whether they want them or not so that I can make up for my sad, dashed childhood dreams.

If you are going to get one, you need to get a sturdy one with a good motor. IL's got the Mini-Cooper one for DD, and it is crap. It works fine inside or on pavement, but it doesn't have the power to really go outside in the grass.

My boys have a mustang at home and a jeep at my mil's house. They love them and have gotten a lot of use out of them.
