Are we ready for potty training??

We've been talking to Troy about going pee pee on the potty. He points to the potty and tells us what it is. He even points to a potty in books while reading.

Tonight I put him on the potty (the regular one) and he looked down to see if he was going pee pee (he didn't go). Then after, he went to his play kitchen and straddled the garbage can and said "Mommy? I pee pee potty" I said "You're doing pee pee on the potty?" He said "Yes"

Other things include him standing up in the tub and trying to hold himself when he is doing pee pee.

Are these signs? What should we do now?? I bought a potty seat for him, but have not shown him as I do not want him to think it's a toy.

TIA!!

Oh definite signs there...I would go for it.

To start, I would just bring the potty anywhere in the house, as long as he's willing to sit on it...make it fun. Let him play with a toy, read a book, etc. while he's sitting on it...if something comes out, great. Of course a huge deal is made so he knows what he's really supposed to be doing on it! If not, he's getting used to the seat.

For us, those are not signs unfortunately. We keep trying though! The only way to know is to try so go for it!
