Are you a PROactive person or a REactive person?

I find that I often anticipate scenarios - how life's events could play out based on past experience. I consider myself rather anticipatory (perhaps slightly anxious at times I'll admit), but I'd rather be prepared. I know many people who don't think that way and let chips fall as they do at which point they decide a course of action. Which are you?

I like to TRY to be proactive, but sometimes drive myself nuts anticipating things...but...I know I can't stand when leaders of large organizations DON'T think ahead AT ALL and are PURELY reactive...

Definitely pro-active.

I'm always thinking of Plan B, if that doesn't work, Plan C, Plan D...

proactive.

Just now I am packing my 'emergency bag' for the wedding. It includes all color threads for bridal gown, bridesmaid gowns, dress for MOB and MOG, and tuxedos. (At every wedding I have been to, I have been needed to sew something.) And that's only part of my kit.

If something's important- related to my family, my job, anything safety related, I am pretty pro-active. If it's something not-so-important, I'm pretty laid back. I think I am pretty good at prioritizing and that helps.

Re: Are you a PROactive person or a REactive person?

I am absolutely 100000000% proactive. I am such a planner. I am going especially crazy with this 2ww just for that reason! Chat Icon I hate uncertainty (dealing with anything, not just the 2ww) and I always feel the need to be prepared.

Ironically, no matter how much I plan/prepare, I always seem to be caught by surprise in some way!

Re: Are you a PROactive person or a REactive person?

I said proactive in the poll, but I try to analyze a situation and see if it's best to be proactive or wait and see and be reactive. Sometimes being reactive is the best thing for a scenario. But I guess if I'm premeditating my reactiveness, that takes proactivity, now doesn't it?Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Are you a PROactive person or a REactive person?

A bit of both. I am prepared for most things but I am also good on the fly if need be. However, I much prefer to be prepared than to have to react and not be prepared.
