Are you the kind of mom that....

remembers everything about your child? For example: can you say, Oh yeah, DC weighed 15lbs when he/she was x many months...or he/she was 25 inches at X amount of months or he/she sat up at so many months...etc, etc, etc....

I cannot remember anything for the life of me, and I certainly can't remember to write any of that down. I feel like I can never look back because all I see is haze and fog, even to just a month or so ago.
I even find myself questioning what I write in posts to other people because I am not exactly sure if I have the correct info about my OWN daughter.
I feel so horribly guilty about this.

Re: Are you the kind of mom that....

I write down their weight and height in their shot book at every doctor's visit. And with Sarah for a while I was good about writing in her baby book. Andy's is totally blank. Chat Icon

ETA: Clearly I can't remember things very well, I couldn't even remember to answer the actual question! Chat Icon

Re: Are you the kind of mom that....

We have a lot in common--lol

I have to look up info about Julia in her baby book if someone asks me a question about her weight or height when she was small....

I always question myself to sometimes when I write an answer to someone's posts, or I usually ask my DH if I'm right or not--lol

Its really scary how I don't remember a lot when she was small, I feel like its all a blur sometimes, its scary....but everyone says its normal too!

Dont feel bad!Chat Icon

Re: Are you the kind of mom that....

If I don't write it down...I don't remember. I know how much she weighed when she was born...and at her last visiit, but not each visit in between.

Re: Are you the kind of mom that....

I'm so glad I'm not the only one. I can't even tell you the guilt I feel. It's gut-wrenching sometimes.
I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that I am SO overwhelmed at work this year, and when I come home, it's basically all business with the baby. We play a little, but then it's dinner, bath time, pjs and bed. So I think back and it's a fog of feeding, bathing, working and a little playing.Chat Icon

Nope. I thought I would. Before I had kids I had a great memory -now I can estimate things & guess about when by looking at pictures.

Some things stick out in my mind like my mom raving about Joseph knowing so many words at 15 months ---ok I probably would have forgotten that too but she wrote the whole list down.Chat Icon

Re: Are you the kind of mom that....

My regret is that I did not document my pregnancy better. I wish I did monthly belly shots. I don't even remember the first time I felt her move...now that is horrible!

I can't remember anything. I forget what I need when I walk in the next room!! Everything is documented in her baby book so I can refer back to that.

By the time we get home from the doctors I've usually forgotten their heights and weight - I have a really bad memory. Chat Icon Good think DH listens up!

Re: Are you the kind of mom that....

I write everything down in a book that I always take with me to the pediatrician. And both of my boys have 2 baby books each that I am good at recording things in as well.
Otherwise, I wouldn't remember a thing!

Re: Are you the kind of mom that....

My mom gave me a book and I write it down in that and I have a blog to keep track.

I'm the same at work with my palm pilot. I can't remember anything so I write it down and look all organized when I remember to do little things...it took a class a few years practice to get that way...

Re: Are you the kind of mom that....

My ped gives me a sheet with her weight & height. I'm glad because I would never rememeber. I dont remember how much she was eating at 8 weeks, but I do have a good idea when she was rolling, crawling etc. I got a calender but never filled it it.

I'm the EXACT same way. I can't remember those things at all. I keep them in her shot book and her baby book.

Me too. It blows my mind that my mother remembers a lot of things off the top of her head about my brother, sister and I 20+ years later!

Nope, can't remember dates, but I can vaguely remember when she started doing things...I didn't write anything down and I feel terrible about it.
I guess I can keep checking my old posts on here to find out!

Re: Are you the kind of mom that....

In the beginning I wrote down stuff in her baby book, but it's been months. I remember general stuff, like when we first gave her cereal, her first word, when she first crawled and walked, but the rest gets all mixed up. NEver fear, you can always go through all your old posts on here to remind yourself of all the major milestones! Chat Icon

Re: Are you the kind of mom that....

I'm HORRIBLE with remembering things. I'm even worse at remembering to write them down in his baby book. The only thing in there is his birthdate, birth weight and height and the hospital he was born in...
