Definitely. Not taking any chances b/c babies' skin is so sensitive.

Re: Are you washing all the clothes first? POLL

Yes. I even wash things for myself such as undergarments before I wear them. My mother used to work at a clothing factory and if you ever saw the conditions these clothes were sewed and packaged in you would never want something like that touching your baby's skin unwashed. The dirt and vermin (mice, roaches) in these factories was unbelievable. All the workers wore face masks as they sewed and packaged the clothes to be shipped to the department stores. And, yes, this was in America, NY, and was high end woman's suits.

Not trying to scare anyone, this is just what I saw growing up and visting my mother at work. She ingrained in me the need to wash clothes before wearing them.

Re: Are you washing all the clothes first? POLL

yes - you should definitely wash anything that will come in contact with the baby. all clothes, bedding, towels, burp clothes, etc. I would even clean off all the furniture. I am a little crazy about this stuff though but they did tell us this at a baby care class I took at the hospital too.

i wouldn't wash all of the clothes. you don't know how big your baby is going to be. my ds was 9lb 5oz and he never fit into newborn size clothes. we went right into 0-3.

Re: Are you washing all the clothes first? POLL

I never washed either of my kid's clothes before wearing them. They are both healthy and never had an issue from the clothes touching their skin unwashed Chat Icon
