More or the same, it hasnt changed. I love going out to the movies - it so much fun. And secaucus theatres are cheaper if you live near there?

We go less because it is more expensive then waiting for it to come out and also we have DS and it is hard to keep asking someone to watch him so we can go to the movies.

DH and i are huge movie buffs....we love the big crowds on opening weekend and enjoying a movie with a full theatre.
in the winter we didn't go as much--cause there wasn't that many good ones to spend the $$$ on -- but this summer from may until now--we've definitely been going to all the big blockbusters

I have been going more lately. In fact I saw more movies in the past year then I have for the previous 6 put together. I hate the crazy prices but I try to do matinees more often then not - they are a few dollars cheaper. It's an easy outing to plan.

I don't go to the movies at all. Every time I go I get nauseous. This has NOTHING to do with pregnancy. The combo of surround sound, quick editing and jarring camera movements actually has the same effect on me as riding on a plane or a boat - I get motion sickness. This should be a real treat when the plasma finally comes in. I won't be able to watch "The Soup" without puking.
You REALLY would have lost it if you saw Blair Witch Project in the theaters, then! Even I got sick at that one....

much, much less. i only go free on tuesdays with the optimum thing--but even that's rare. i can't stand the teens, ruds people on cell phones, uncomfortable seats, high prices and ridiculous prices for food.
i'd rather watch it on my couch especially since DH knows how to get all the brand new movies on his computer the first weekend they're out!

less it has to be something i really want to see for me to go. Mostly I will just wait for it on dvd. plus i get free movie tickets on occassion and can also go see if for free at the co. movie theater.

Definitely less, but not because of ticket prices. DH always falls asleep in the movies so we very rarely go. I'm probably in a movie theater once a year.

i think she's referencing the fact that getting "brand new movies" on the computer means that he is illegally downloading pirated movies.

My friends also know people that can get us DVD-quality films of first-run movies - right when they come out - or sometimes even before

i never flame others for doing it--cause as you just pointed out--people KNOW its wrong and they are fine with it. but i just never felt comfortable doing it myself. DH is totally fine with it--so sometimes he'll come home with one of those dvds and i get a little annoyed. but otherwise--what others do is their business

Less b/c we find ourselves with less free time, the $ of tix & snacks are insane, movies come out onto DVD so quickly, & usually there is some annoying person talking with his friends or on his cell that ruins our movie.

I go much less than i used to. DH still goes to see things though.
I just can't stand seeing movies with other people in the theatre. More often than not, i get people sitting behind me who feel the need to comment on everything in the movie, while they're watching it. I can't even tell you how many times i've politely asked people to stop talking during the movie because it interferes with my ability to watch it.
So many people are rude and inconsiderate - laughing, talking, cell phones etc. And its not just kids.. you get parents who bring kids to totally inappropriate movies and then the kids get fussy or talk and the parents don't do anything about it. And don't even get me started on the elderly..
If i want to hear your comments, i'll come watch the movie in your living room with you.. otherwise, shush!
I really want to see Batman, but i'm waiting a few weeks for the hype to die down so i can go see it and hopefully not be bothered by everyone else.
its sad, because i used to absolutely love seeing movies in the theatre. Now, we too get everything downloaded and watch it at home instead.

I've haven't been going as much this summer as normal I get the entertainement book every year so the ua theathers movies are 6.oo and the National amusement are 7.00. If I go with Mom she just get's two seniors they never check.

The Secaucus theater still show movies for $8 but DH and I went to the Edgewater theater recently and was so appalled at the $11 ticket price! We ended up walking out and heading over to the mall next door to do some shopping. :D
