ARGH!!!!!!!
Nothing seems to impress my husband. He is so blase about everything, and it annoys me. I was laying on the bed before, and she started kicking, so I looked down, and my belly was moving with her. I was so excited, so I called JT into the room to see. He was looking at my belly with the least amount of interest I could even imagine. He was like, "Wow. That's neat." NEAT?!?!?! I wanted to scream at him Even when he feels her kick, he's like, ok, that's nice. He has no enthusiasm, what-so-ever for anything having to do with this pregnancy. It's so upsetting. He was off today, and I left a note before I left for work saying I wanted to measure the bedroom when I got home to see where we could move the furniture to to make the most of our space in our bedroom. So when I got home, I asked if he would help me, and he said yes, but proceeded to sit down on the computer and check his email for 45 minutes I'm so aggravated with him right now.

Re: ARGH!!!!!!!
I think that since they don't have the baby inside them and they can't feel it like we can, it doesn't seem as real to them. I bet that when the baby arrives, you will see him much more enthusiastic.

Re: ARGH!!!!!!!
Lot of dads I know were like this. It's multifaceted (they can't feel the baby move, they're afraid to be hopeful in case something goes wrong, etc).
Trust me nothing will impress them more than you delivering...and he'll never feel the same after having his little girl in his arms for the first time.

Re: ARGH!!!!!!!
Thanks girls. I spent all last night acting indifferent towards HIM to see how he liked it, and he was all freaked out because he kept thinking something was wrong. So I finally said, "See how you feel now? That's how I am feeling half the time lately, because you are so indifferent towards me and this pregnancy." And he seemed to get the point. But I am glad to hear I'm not the only one who has a DH like this. I mean, even if he had to fake it every once in a while, a little oooh-ing and ahhhhh-ing would be nice, ya know?

Re: ARGH!!!!!!!
DH was like this too....well, maybe a little MORE excited than JT but he touched my belly to feel her move MAYBE 5 times. I know 3 for sure....he got more into it at the end.
I can tell you that my DH has been SO much more affectionate, loving, helpful since she was born. HE is so amazed by her and what it's done to our relationship. Hard to explain (we just discussed it the other day actually) but part of it could be he's scared, nervous, not sure if he;ll be a good father, etc.

Re: ARGH!!!!!!!
I think lots of men are like that. I know with my DH it doesn't really seem to "real" to him yet. Even though my belly is huge- it doesn't affect him like it affects me. I truly believe that when the baby comes out- the indifference will all change dramaticlly!! Its just not their bodies so its nto a daily thing for them. And it is such a slow process to men.
There was an episode of Gilmore Girls when one of the charachters were pregnant and the women were talking to the belly and gathering around and the DH wasn't all that interested. He said, "I'll be excited when it comes out". I think a lot of men have that attitude. They just don't feel the magnitude of it all until its here.
