ARGH!!! I need hugs, smilies, keep-me-from-poking-my-eyes-out- vibes (warning, this is a LONG one)
Mads has been on Augmentin since Tuesday to treat an ear infection. This morning she woke up late (7am!-I got 10 hours of sleep!!!) begging for water. I gave her a sippy of water and picked her up to change her. She was burning up. Took the temp-102.5. Gave her some motrin.
I bring her in my room to watch some TV while I got dressed and she pukes. She'd had the motrin down about 30 minutes. She was able to keep down sips of water with juice after that.
2 hours later, she's kept down her juice, so I let her eat some blueberries and gave her some Tylenol. I call the pediatrician and they tell me to bring her in. So I pack up a lethargic, feverish 3 year old and her 18 month old sister and get to the ped.
The sick waiting room was PACKED. I put Eliza down to play with the toys and Maddie snuggles onto my lap. Then it happens. SHE PUKES all over me. Blueberries and Tylenol. It was like a mass exodus- all the people with well kids (who were hanging out in the sick room) making a mad dash to the smaller, less fun "well child" room.
I sat there dumbfounded, covered in puke. Some lady asked, "Do you need help?" UHHHHHHHHH...... YES. She walks to the front desk I'm assuming to get a garbage can or at least alert the receptionist. She brings me a TISSUE. One tissue. In the meantime I hear some guy say to his wife, "What the hell did that kid EAT?!"
So, the pediatrician diagnoses her with "sheer dumb luck" in that she caught a virus on top of the ear infection.
Then, as we're leaving Eliza throws a HUGE tantrum because we are now 30 minutes past nap time. We were quite the sight: me at almost 8 months pregnant, covered in puke holding the hand of my pale, sick, covered in puke 3 year old while carrying my screaming toddler on my hip. WT at it's best.
To add insult to injury: DH and I had an "argument" this week because I haven't filled up the van or truck in awhile. SO- to be a dlck, he put no gas in the minivan yesterday when he was out, so I literally ran out of gas pulling into the gas station. We have NO food in this house because Saturday is grocery day (the plan had been the park followed by food shopping) , DH is working overtime and won't be home til tonight. And the worst is that my mother will DEFINITELY not be able to come visit next week because she cannot be around any sick kids because her immune system is compromised (she's been getting chemo treatments).
I am sitting here not knowing whether to laugh or cry at the sheer ridiculousness that today was- all before noon.
Please, if anyone has a hug to spare i could use it.

Oh my......I want to laugh and cry at the same time...you poor thing....I can only imagine.
I hope the little one feels better! And I hope you get to put your feet up for a bit!

Awww...def sounds like a rough time. But I agree with lots of other PPs... ya just gotta laugh about it. Just think...in a few years, it will all jsut be a memory, and it WILl be something that you'll never forget about LOL

Thanks for the hugs. Thankfully DH was able to get someone to cover part of his shift so he came home a few hours earlier than originally planned and was able to help me get them to bed.
Mads STILL has a fever (just 101) but she's perked up a bit.
I ran out quickly and did some grocery shopping once they were in bed. DH was going to do it but I NEEDED to get the hell out of this house and be alone for a few minutes....
How sad that a trip to the supermarket is relaxing to me.....

And these that Mads feels better soon and gets all the blueberry out of her system and not on any of your carpets or furniture
