ARGH!!! Jury Duty
I got a jury duty questionnaire a while back and sent it back explaining that I'm the primary care giver for an infant and have no back up day care. I included a copy of her birth certificate.
Today I get in the mail a jury summons. Now I have to send the same stuff again to get it excused. What a waste of time.

Re: ARGH!!! Jury Duty
I jury summons says that if you are the primary care giver with no back up day care for a child 16 or younger you can be excused. Ordinarily I don't mind, I feel like it's a small nusiance for all the freedoms we have, but I just really don't have anyone to care for her.

Re: ARGH!!! Jury Duty
Argh..that is annoying. I was 8 months pregnant was I was picked to SERVE on a jury. Two weeks later when I had Joseph early, I was trying to track down the judges number to tell him I was showing up on Monday. The judge called me back to apologize and said he'll be sure that the lawyers understand that picking an 8month pregnant woman to serve was unforgiveable.

Same thing happened to me in September. I was furious! I spoke to a nice woman when I got the 2nd Jury summons after I sent in all my paperwork for the excuse (it said I was a deliquent Juror!). She told me they had no record of receiving my first letter and his birth certificate (which was BS because I had a certified return mail receipt from the PO that says exactly when it was delivered and signed for!).
So I made a copy of it all again, and sent it back in. I called them a week later to see if they got it, and they told me I was granted a 2 year reprieve. A hassle, but a must for me.

Re: ARGH!!! Jury Duty
How annoying! I have yet to receive a summons, but I received not one, but two questionnaires while I was pregnant with Christopher, so I'm expecting a summons any day now.

Re: ARGH!!! Jury Duty
I also received a jury summons last month when Jacob was one month old. Like you all, I sent in the copy of the birth certificate and all the paperwork. I just now hope I don't have to go through this nonsense again...
They did tell me over the phone that once they receive the info youhave a 2 year reprive.
Let's hope everything goes through smoothly

Re: ARGH!!! Jury Duty
I got one also when my daughter was a few months old. I swear they pick the same people all the time and others never get picked. They should pick people who are out of work.
