This was said in 2002 so well before anything happened. We have all said things in our past and when faced with the reality acted different. Holding this over him, I feel, is just something people are bringing up for more steam. I'm not defending anyone here just saying I don't think it's right to hold everything someone has ever said against them kwim? Think about things you said 13 years ago and if those awful things happened did you react the same way?

I think we should drag them through the mud!! The comment they've made against gays are just atrocious and they deserve every bit of backlash they get if you ask me

Occurred at the same time. What about their statements vilifying the LGBT community as child predators (while covering their son's molestation)?

I do not agree with their religious beliefs. They are crazy but there any many different shows on the air that I don't agree with the views of the people staring in them. I don't have to watch it. That's America. As long as they aren't doing anything illegal I think Jessa and Jill should be able to have a show if that is their desire. They shoud not suffer because of josh and their parents crimes.

ITA. While I do feel badly for the women Josh abused, I don't feel like we owe this family a platform. I find their lifestyles bizarre and bad for the girls and women in the family, and while they are free to do what they want, I don't feel the media should promote them.

We give platforms to all types of people and viewpoints. The fact is, we, as Americans, do derive some perverse pleasure from watching cultural extremes. As long as there is an audience and it is not illegal who is to say what deserves to be promoted as free speech and what is not. There are pageant shows, the Kardashians, Real Housewives and not to mention how many hundreds of millions of dollars were spent to watch two men fight. How about mike Tyson and the the ish he did and now it's like it never happened?
I think the Duggars are strange and backwards and I think Josh is despicable. However, when I look around at everything else I wouldn't say that a show about Jessa and Jill is where I draw the line. The line or what qualifies as entertainment nowadays is so far gone that I can't discuss morality in the same sentence.
