As promised Birth Story and Pics-- LONG
Giada Ellen was born on friday December 29th at 2:45 pm weighing 7lbs 6 oz and 20 inches long.
Birth Story-
I went in on thursday the 28th to be induced. My dr. called told me to be there at 7:15 am, but I didnt get my first dose of Cervidil until 11 am. About 4 hours later, I started to feel cramps, then at about 7 pm, I started to get contractions with the cramps. They hurt and the nurses offered stadol ( a pain med) but I refused. At 8 pm I went to the bathroom and felt part of the cervidil hanging out. I called for the dr. and they just pushed it back in. Ok I have to be honest, inserting the Cervidil hurt like a b*tch!!!! because they cannot use any lubricant the gloves were dry and so was the cervidil, OUCH!!!!!! So 11 pm comes-I am only 1 cm dilated, the cervidil has to stay in for 12 hours, and now I am getting contractions pretty bad still refused the stadol and had to get another dose of the cervidil  . Now the babys heartbeat started to get out of control was in the 140's but began to get too high 190's. The interns were worried and said if this keeps up we have to take the baby out. But poof, then the heartbeat went down into the 160's and they were satisfied with that. Now its 1:05 am and the contractions are pretty intense 4-6 minutes apart. They call my dr. tell me Im ready to go to the other side. My Dr. comes in checks me and says shes not ready still only 1 cm dilated and high. I was like come on allready. So I get up to pee and the whole damn cervidil falls out. So I have to get another one  and my Dr. said what are you doing wide awake at this hour- I said um I am trying to sleep but the contractions wake me up and hurt. So he orders me to get the stadol and I pass out for hours, thank god I did, I really needed that rest. At 6:30 in the morning they check me and I am 3 cm dilated, Ok now Im ready for the other side.
I go to the delivery room which are really nice by the way at Winthrop. They start the pitocin and the contractions start coming on. I get the epidural and when he did it my right leg jerked all the way up and kicked into the nurse. She said was that your leg, Im like um yeah whats going on. So the dr. says what her leg moved and does something else that then my right thigh spasmed. I was really worried but the contractions hurt I had to concentrate on my breathing. AHHHHHH the epi worked and Im feeling pretty good. So now my mom leaves to go home and take a shower b/c the dr. says oh she has awhile to go this was around noon. My mom lives in East Northport, so she goes and then 20 minutes later the contractions were coming on real strong that the epi felt like it wasnt working at all. My legs were so numb and I started to get contractions in my leg, yup my leg and they said that was normal b/c they had me lay on my right side due to the babys heartbeat. So I went back on the left side. Now I was 6cm dilated. I get nervous and tell DH call my mom tell her to get back here, turn around. 15 minutes later I am now 9 cm dilated, they shut off the epi as soon as I was 6cm explaining to me they have to or I wont be able to push. Oh man the pain!!!!!!! and they came on so fast and strong it was hard to catch my breath. Now just about 1pm and Im 100 effaced and the dr. said ok its time to push. Now Im freaking b/c they cant get a hold of my mom and I know if she misses this she would be so upset and me too. So at 1:15 I start pushing. Im not going to lie for me at least it hurt and I needed help lifting my legs. I just kept pushing what felt like it went by fast but I pushed for an hour and a half till she came out. And my mom made it for the last half hour, thank goodness!!!!
Oh forgot to add, dont waste your money on taking lamaze, I am so glad I didnt. The nurses and the dr. tell you exactly what to do and DH too.
DH cut the cord, I did the cord blood banking with CBR and ouchy- that hurt and was very uncomfortable when the dr. was getting out the placenta and then I had to get stitched up a lot, took 10 minutes to stitch me up, yikes!!!
the next day I was in severe back pain requesting all day long for pain meds. I couldnt breast feed, pump, sleep or barely move. I had to record my outputs ( what I pee out in whats called a hat that has measurements) and the nurse never picked up on my symptoms or checked my outputs. Finally at 11 pm the night nurse who thank god listened to me with my symptoms and then checked my day numbers immediately put a cather in me. My bladder had shut down sometime in the am hours of sat and my bladder was backed up with 2400 ounce of urine , I could have had kidney failure and a back flow I was told. So I should have been home sunday but came home monday, b/c I could not pee on my own sunday after being catherrized all night sat into sunday morning and had to take Piridian to help me pee too. After the urine came out holy cow, I felt like a million bucks!!! I wrote a letter to report this nurse too.
Bottom line is if you feel back pain and or pain on your lower belly have them check your bladder, it is common, I was told when pushing the organs get swollen and the bladder can shut down.
I feel 95% back to normal with peeing now, but I feel great. Soar from the stitches but can move around like nothing.
oh and due to not being able to pump or breast feed b/c of the pain, I literally could not move the pain was so intense worse than giving labor, I got the engorgement and had to have a lactation nurse come to my home and ungorge me. that hurt like h e l l !!!! Baby latched on but she sucked so hard I got blisters so I am just pumping now, and thats not fun either. I know why now so many women dont do it. It HURTS!!!

ahh funny I just wrote this in my other post, we pronounce it the Italian way Jahda with the a sounding like ah. but while she is small we will call her Gia.
and thank you I know her cheeks are so full. I can eat her all up

Aww she is adorable!!
I'm just wondering why they turned your epidural off. It's true you can't feel yourself pushing, but they tell you when to push. At least that's how it's been IME and with others I know. Geez, I really hope they don't turn the Epidural off for me, the whole point is so I don't feel pain!

Im glad you mentioned the "Dont waste your $ on Lamaze"...We didnt take it either. I figure the nurse(s) will hopefully "help me out". My sister even said you really don't need it.
