Aslyns Cats - Dire Need from Hurricane Irene

I came accross this plea for help and thought I'd pass it along to anyone who is in a position to help. They are located upstate and help Leukemia + kitties

I am upgrading the quality of future food donations due to the extreme stress the cats have been under, particularly because they are Felv+. For canned food: Wellness, Petguard Premium, Weruva, Merrick, Natural Balance, Max/Nutro, Evo and other foods that don't have meat-by-products. Dry foods: Wellness, Natural Balance, Max/Nutro, Canidae, Eagle Pack, Evo and any other dry food that doesn't have meat-by-products or grains. These cats really need their immune systems boosted, even more so now.

A MAJOR priority need is MegaC Plus. I go through that pretty quickly and I just opened a new jar that was totally ruined by the mud. This is URGENT!

We need people to donate money for specific projects. They can get us gift cards for Lowes and Home Depot. Gift cards to Petsmart and Petco are good. The projects include:

1) the cleaning up of the entire backyard which is still covered in the awful mud. We need volunteers who can mow the lawn and then put down lime. So we need lime, weed wacker, mower. We also needs stones(about 3-4") to fill up an area that holds water..it is like a small pond and the cats are drinking from it. The area is about 15'x15. This pooling area is an urgent project!

2) The basement: We have to get a new oil tank and furnace.

3) Our fence was badly damaged by the flood. The top of the fence of now totally fixed and secure thanks to Noah's Wish! The bottom of the fence is temporarily secured but needs to be permanently secured. We have the materials but need the volunteers.

4) The drywalls on the first floor will need to be put up, but not until we have finished the bleaching process and let them thoroughly dry out.

I want to get volunteers on a permanent basis to help with the daily routines, which include cleaning and petting the cats(the best!). I'm also looking to hire cleaners to do the daily routine of cleaning.
