asphalt driveway $$$$
How much does it cost to have an asphalt driveway installed...

I am not really sure if this helps but I am in NJ and we currently have asphalt but need to have it completely redone (not just a thin layer over what is existing) and we were quoted $1800 to have the old one dug up, leveled and then new asphalt poured.
Someone around the block from us did stamped asphalt and then colored it and it looks really nice pattern wise, I don't care for the color they choose.

How wide and deep is your driveway...
Sorry, I meant to add that and got side tracked by the kids 
I just measured it and it is 18'3" wide and 31' long (from the garage door to the sidewalk. It holds 4 cars

We're on LI (Suffolk) and got quotes between $2500 and $3000. We are digging up the old drive, and adding a spur to the new one to make it fit 2 cars at the top.

We had our old driveway torn out and put in a new one. It cost a little over 4k all said and done but, it included a lot. We had the driveway widened, the apron redone with paving stones, they had to reform the curb after widening the driveway, and we got Belgian block down the sides.
