Re: at-home fetal doppler
We have one from ebay (sonoline? something like that. it has a digital display). Couldn't find HB at 11w but found it at 12w onward.

Re: at-home fetal doppler
I rented a hospital-grade one from Babybeat.com. It costs $40 a month (really $45, but I had a promo code) and I heard the hb at 10w5d. I'm only keeping it for 2 months - hopefully by 18 weeks I'll feel the baby move and won't need it anymore!
It took about 10 minutes of (agonizing!) searching the first time to hear the baby, but now (17 weeks) I just squirt the gel on my belly, plop the receiver down, and the hb is right there.

I have this too! I love it!! I didn't order it until I was 19 weeks though. So it's hard finding it b/c he moves around so much.
it's worth the $30 IMO.

Re: at-home fetal doppler
I have two of them. it depends on the type you have.
One of mine was a gift and is for 30 weeks and beyond. You can literally hear every single sound in there and it's just confusing to listen to. it's from Graco.
Because the graco one gave me such troubles... I bought the angel sounds doppler. this is a different kind. And you can hear the HB much earlier on... also you don't hear every single sound so it's easier to use.
I don't listen to the HB every single day...but only the days that I'm extra nervous.

I have the same one. I got it at 12w and I found the hb right away.
