DS is skinny and he started wearing 12-18m clothing around 12m. Around 13m, he started wearing 18-24m shirts. At 16m, he can still fit his 12m pants.

DD turned 1yr old 2 days ago, she fits in mostly 12 month, but some 18 month
From what I see, it really depends upon the brand...
For Carters she wears 12 or 18 months
For BabyGAP 6-12 months
Old Navy 2T or 3T
H & M 6-12 months

THey were around 16 months, but that was because the seasons were changing and I didn't want to get them summer clothes in 12 months and then they'd grow out of them.
They are almost 19 months now and probably could still fit in 12 month clothes, but the pants would be too short. Thank goodness for the bulkier cloth diapers- they help to keep the 18 month shorts/pants up!
I anticipate they will be in 18 months for a long time.
