Atlantis, Bahamas w/1 year old
DH went to Atlantis two years ago and LOVED it! We're planing on going back in July with our now 1 year old DD. We stayed at the cove when we went. Yes, it is not cheap, BUT it is beautiful, peaceful, and the rooms are VERY spacious and have all the amenities of home! I would also consider staying at the Royal Towers b/c it is not only cheaper, but I think it might be more convenient being that's it's centrally located. Last option is the Reef which his also cheaper than Cove, but I'm concerned that it is too "out of the way". Any thoughts from those that have stayed in these hotels? Also, I welcome any travel tips that you can offer since this is the first time I'm traveling with DD! I'm a little anxious! Thank you!!!

Re: Atlantis, Bahamas w/1 year old
Ok, I'm due Aug.3rd and we took our "babymoon" trip there in March! We originally booked at the Reef. So, upon checking in, and "walking" to check out the property, I nearly died at how far it was from everything. I was 20 and a half weeks at the time. We actually wound up "downgrading" (1st time EVER), to the Royal Towers. We were SOOO much happier with our choice. Granted, the Reef & Cove are awesome, but especially with a 1 year old, you want to be near all the good stuff. The Royal Towers are central. It does get more crowded in those areas though, I will tell you that. But we were ok! I want to go back next May or June with DC, and we will definitely stay at Royal Towers again! The casino is right there, and most restaurants are close! The only one that is further is Mesa Grill @ the Cove (which was awesome by the way) and shoot, I can't think of the name of the buffet place @ Cove where we ate breakfast twice. Anyway, I think you are making a wise decision staying at the Royal, and it is cheaper. I was surprised that they actually gave us a credit for the difference, I couldn't believe it, and just wrote them a nice letter thanking them for doing that. They obviously didn't have to, it was our choice to go lower. HTH, FM me with any questions!

Re: Atlantis, Bahamas w/1 year old
The last time we went we stayed at in the Royal Towers. We were in the presidents club (I think thats what it was called.) The room was nothing special but had an awesome view. It included access to this room that had a free breakfast, happy hour, afternoon snacks. It was close to the splashers kids pool. I think the Royal Towers in very convenient.

Re: Atlantis, Bahamas w/1 year old
we went to the atlantis in aug 2008 and DS actually turned 1 on our trip. we stayed at the royal towers bc we felt it would be the most convenient with a baby. we had a great time and DS had sooo much fun!!!! we used their babysitting service 2 out of the 5 nights we were there. it was fun to be able to get out a little with DH, go to dinner and go to the casino together a little bit. if you do decide to use their babysitting, make sure you book before you go...they tend to get booked very fast!
