Re: B&B in Dublin

I'd recommend Trinity Lodge - right by Trinity College. Very pretty and the people are really nice.

Most of the B&B's are in on O'Connell Street in zipcode number 1 - While you can definitely get a good price, I'd personally stay somewhere a bit more conveniently located.

Paramount Hotel often has deals on travelocity or expedia - nice place. Also - there is a small chain of hotels called Jury's Inn - sort of like a Holiday Inn. The one at Christchurch (across the street from Christchurch Cathedral) is a nice location.

I stayed at the Jury's Inn a few years ago, they are a nice chain. And the pub was open late.

I agree - Jury's Inns are a good choice. They have 3 or 4 properties all in good, central locations.

The one B&B I know of that is quite nice is the Jackson Court on Harcourt Street, just a few minutes walk from St. Stephen's Green. I would recommend trying there or you can get a room at either Jury's, Bewley's or Wynn's for under EUR$150.

I also recommend Jury's. I stayed at the one in Christ Church. Clean and not too expensive.

Jury's Inn is a nice chain, we have one here in Manchester. Remember that you can't compare hotels like that to ones in the US.

she did tell me that the rooms would be austere to say the least.

I found a few but some of them are expensive especially with the dollar tanking daily..$260 euros is over $400!!

Jury's is okay - I stayed in the Christ Church one

I love the Shelbourne (it's actually a Marriott) on St Stephen's Green, but you'll prob pay a pretty penny there
