babe,honey,sweetie...

Does any of ur So's HATE when you use the word babe or sweetie instead of their name.. My BF HATES when I call him babe, but he doesnt mind honey.. I think its kind of weird so I try to rememeber..but Im just the kinda gal who SAYS babe and honey lol..what can ya do right..but i was just curious if any1 else has a similar issue...

and to add--he doesnt like being called babe in public OR in private so its not that im shouting babe across a crowded bar or anything LOL..i think its mother issues lol

I'm actually the one who hates being called all of those names. I don't mind honey, but I cringe at the others.

I dont mind from DH, but I hate when people you dont know do it. Like aw, thanks so much sweetie. Bleh!

DH doesn't mind...Hun, Babe, Sweetheart...but he hates when I call him BabyKins...so I save that one for when his friends are over to watch a game.

and we never call each other by our names. We've been together for 7 years and I think I call him by his name when we're fighting and he NEVER calls me by my name. We have nick names for each other. I don't mind though.

We are the total opposite. DH and I call each other Babe and Baby as if those were our first names. It actually sounds weird to me for me to call him by his first name. Same for him.

Most of the time we don't care using it in public at all. One time we were on a conference call with a mortgage rep and her name was Sandra also... so in order to stop the confusion, DH said said to her "Okay, when I say 'Babe' I'm referring to my wife and when I say 'Sandra' I'm referring to you."

The only time we really use our first names is at work, of course (and we are ALWAYS afraid we are going to slip one day, thank GOD we hardly ever have to actually work together) and when we have to yell across a room.

I don't care, neither does Rich. We don't overdo it. In public, we usually use first names - he'll call me Nic.

If its just us and/or family, the names come out. But they're more like "smelly" and "fartbreath" instead of "sweetie" and "hun"

no thats normal for us, but i hate it when dh trys to pi$$ me off and calls me schmoopie...like on the seinfeld episode... just to see me blow up lol

I kid around sometimes and call him babe/hon...he gets annoyed because a couple friend of ours over use the words and it drives both of us NUTS..

I call DH Daddy and He calls me Mommy... Before we had kids I would call him Honey and he called me Sweety. I feel weird calling him by his first name - LOL

I think I call him by his name a lot more then he does me. But mostly it's like honey, or sweetie or something like that. I actually almost get a little freaked out by hearing him use my name. I'm not sure why, but it just feels strange. Like, ugh! I don't know, I'm weird like that.

I was thinking about this recently. Recently, I have been calling DH a nickname that he grew up with (it is short for his lastname).
Lately, he has been calling me "my dear" and it is annoying me. I feel like I am talking to my grandmother!!
The funniest is that he ONLY uses my real name when he has something serious to tell me or he is mad. I feel sometimes like I am back in my childhood room and mom and dad are disappointed with my report card.

Ive been out with this guy on two dates...but talk a lot. Last night on the phone he said Hun and bye sweetie. I was like
