Babies and cavities
I think my DD has been cursed with our bad genetics teethwise. My baby teeth grew in with cavities and DH hasn't has the best teeth either.
DD recently got all four of her molars and it looks like the top one has a dark whole in the middle. Could it be a cavity already??? We brush her teeth - the molars are new...
If it is in fact a cavity - what do you do with a 1 year old with a cavity??

Re: Babies and cavities
I would take her to the dentist. They are supposed to get their teeth checked at 1 anyway. My neighbor took her girls to the dentist for the 1st time a few weeks ago (they are 3) and the dentist told her all kids should get their teeth checked by the time they are 1 1/2 yrs. old just to make sure there are no problems, etc. I dont think they do an actual cleaning like adulta get, but they may.

Re: Babies and cavities
It sounds like it could be.
My kids go to a great pediatric dentist. I don't where you live but he is in Smithtown. FM me if you want more info.

Re: Babies and cavities
They will fill it. If it is small they use a water laser - no pain at all. If it is on the larger side they do it the traditional way - but I swear my son doesn't even flinch when they give him novacaine - they do such a good job of numbing up the gum first. And I swear they have that tooth filled in like 2 minutes.
Do not put off taking her to the dentist. I did that to my daughter because of my own fear of the dentist and she had such a bad cavity because of it. A pediatric dentist is trained to handle a one year old - don't worry!

Re: Babies and cavities
I agree, take her to the dentist. My DS has had to get cavities filled. They are really great with him and he leaves singing and dancing.
