Babies--was it a conscious decision, or did you just "know"?
Did you just know it was time and you were ready to start trying for a baby? My friend who is due in October said that they actually made a conscious decision to start trying, because they weren't getting any younger. But she did say that she didn't know if there ever would be a perfect time to have a baby. I'm just curious, because I know right now we're not ready, but I'm wondering how I'll know when we are.

Well I'm new to this as well. But we both know that it feels right, so we're doing all the checkups necessary and we're going to start trying. But I've been taking vitamins and folic acid for a while now. I think you'll just know when it's right or it'll happen unexpectedly. Good Luck!!

For me and Dh it has been a decision that we both agreed on.
Is it the right time? Maybe, Maybe not.
We havent gotten into a house yet but are looking.
Financially we arent entirely set either but you just know and we also look at our age as a factor.
You arent 100% and it is a major change in your life. you go with the flow I guess.

We discussed it before we got married...we have the house, we lived together for 3 and 1/2 years before we got married so we knew that we have no real excuse not to start trying. Are we ready.....I don't think you ever are....you just have that feeling that a baby to add to your union is perfect...that's what I feel...I love the thought of having a baby BUT I'm scared...and don't think I'm ready but if you ask me why ..I can't give you a reason

we discussed before we got married that once we had a house we would TTC, we moved in on July 1st and I got my BFP on July 16th, we wasted NO time

Right now my DH and I are not careful. If it happens it happens and I will be so thankful if it were to happen.
We plan on trying next year and also plan on taking folic acid and vitamins after the New Year, we shall see what happens

I'm a planner so we planned our kids. We waited 1 year after we bought our house, 4 years after we were married to have our 1st.

I would start these now if there is a possibility you might become pregnant from not being careful.

I would start these now if there is a possibility you might become pregnant from not being careful.

We knew we wanted to be married at least a year. We made the decision to actually start trying two days later and 2 months later we were pg with our first child. Even though we agreed that we wanted to try it didn't hit us until we found out we were pregnant. Then once I started to get big and we could both feel DS moving inside me we knew it was really happening and it just made us happy. For us it was a right time. Some say I am young (I was 22 turning 23 when I got married and dh was 28 turning 29 and I was 24 when he was born) but it felt right.

We decided it was time. We were going to start earlier, but, do to health issues I was told my doctors it would be best for me to wait. I waited 2 years.
Im happy to say that we are expecting in January.

DH and I arent TTC just yet but we have set a list of items we want accomplished. We have completed most of them and will probably TTC within a year. So to answer your question, we decided.
