Baby Acne
My DD wakes up after every nap with more acne on whatever side of her face she slept on. She is really a drooler and we keep on washing her face but can't seem to clear it up. Any other ideas on how to clear it up and not make it worse? TIA

Re: Baby Acne
When Sasha had acne at like 8 weeks-- I just slathered on the Aquaphor CONSTANTLY. It went away.
But now, she is drooling A LOT and since we have weaned off the swaddle-- her face is breaking out more since she has her hands on her face more in the middle of the night.
When she just had it on her neck from drool-- the PEd recco'd hydrocortisone cream and it worked INSTANTLY. I tired a little on her face, and I don't think it's working in the same-- so, I am afraid to put it on her face constantly. So I am back to Aquaphor.
I want it to clear up since she has a photoshoot on Sat!!

Re: Baby Acne
My ped told us to keep the area dry and to not apply lotions or soaps. We really just had to wait it out, it went away around 10 or 12 weeks.
I'd be careful with the hydrocortisone, DS has eczema our ped said to use the hydrocortisone only when his eczema gets really red and angry looking, and to use it sparingly because it has steroids in it.

Our ped also told us not to put anything on it and just let it take its coarse. I think DD had it for about a month.

Re: Baby Acne
Riley started at 2 weeks old with the baby acne on the face plus she is always touching her face so we are always cleaning her hands. Dr said to just let it runs its course! We hate it but you can just clean it through out the day with a cloth and water. That is what we do. Now at 4 weeks it is getting better.

Re: Baby Acne
My Dd was the same way. I think it might be that age that their acne get bad but it will go away on its own in a few weeks. I would gently wash any formula or drool from her cheeks, apply aquaphor a couple of times a day and that was it.
