Baby Aspirin Question
Did anyone's doctor recommend they take a baby aspirin after d&c? One of my friend's doctors told her that it was safe to ttc right after d&c (after 1st menstrual cycle) as long as she took a baby aspirin every day through her first trimester. She did this, got pregnant right away and has a healthy baby boy. Just wondering if anyone else has ever heard of this theory? My doctor suggested i wait 2 cycles before trying, but just wondering about this aspirin theory.

Re: Baby Aspirin Question
I should have also mentioned that her doctor told her that it would help to sustain her pregnancy.

Re: Baby Aspirin Question
i have never heard of taking baby aspirin DURING pregnancy unless there is concern about a clotting issue.
I have heard of taking baby aspirin while ttc. Some say it increases blood flow to the uterus and makes the lining healthier. I've also heard that it can help stimulate ovulation. I don't think any of this has been proven - more like an off label use.

Re: Baby Aspirin Question
many people take baby aspirin while pregnant. it is usually for a clotting issue - thinner blood prevents clots in the placenta during pregnancy and during implantation of an embryo at the beginning of pregnancy. i have been on it since june for clotting issues. if you dont have a clotting issue there is no specific reason to take it. i wouldnt consider that responsible for your friends pregnancy. its actually fairly pointless to take it if you dont have a clotting issue, however if you/she havent done the thrombophilia blood panel you wouldnt know either way so it doesnt hurt anything to take it.

Re: Baby Aspirin Question
I didn't take baby asprin, but when I got pregnant after my late miscarriage my specialist advised me to take asprin everyday during my pregnancy, stopping about 8 weeks before my due date. I didn't have clotting issues that they found, but she did think there was a possibility that there was a clotting problem with my placenta that made me lose the pregnancy at about 15 weeks. I didn't start miscarrying until 19 weeks. I got pregnant two cycles after the D&C.

Re: Baby Aspirin Question
I'm just thinking if i know for a fact that it can't do any harm, maybe i should just do it to be on the safe side....not sure yet. Maybe i'll check with my doctor first.
