baby bird pics
I just got around to putting these pics on my computer but about 3 weeks ago the pair of orioles that made there nest in the tree that hangs over my deck hatched their babies. The parents were going nuts feeding them & the babies were really loud. One day we found a tiny baby bird dead on the ground. The next day my dog found this guy.
He was just jumping around in the grass under the tree. He was hungry & scared but I left him where he was so his parents could come back for him. Several hours went by & he was still there & I decided to feed him & give him water. The oriole parents were constantly getting berries from my neighbors tree & bringing them to the babies. So I crushed up some berries & used a straw to feed him. He gobbled them down & drank water. The poor thing was covered in red mites, so I dusted him with organic bug powder I have for the chickens. It was about to start thundering & raining & I was too afraid of the mites getting near my chickens so make him a spot in a basket & A made a little teepee for him with a camping chair. In the morning he was gone & I seriously doubt anything like a cat or raccoon could have gotten to him without disturbing the chair. So I hope his parents came for him Anyway, he was just so cute.

Re: baby bird pics
OMG the cuteness. It is good you hydrated him. When I worked at a wildlife rehab, that is the first thing we would do (with saline sln) for any babies that were brought in (and really all the animals).
