Baby Carriers... is it worth it?
I've been thinking about getting a baby carrier (aka Baby Bjorns), but was wondering what your opinions are on them. Which carrier do you have? Is it worth it?

Re: Baby Carriers... is it worth it?
You know what, I got one for my baby shower at work and didn't think I'd use it so I returned it and I could kick myself because now when Ava is fussy, all she wants is to be held close to my chest and it would give me much more mobility if I had it still I think I'm going to go and pick one up!

I'm selling my baby bjorn - I literally used it *maybe* 5 times. I was going to list it on ebay but if you gals want it $50 its yours.
Drop me a FM - if you live close you can either pick it up or I can drop it off.

I started off with the Baby Bjorn, and loved it. Then went to the hip hammock and its the best, so easy to put on and its better then taking the stoller everywhere.

Re: Baby Carriers... is it worth it?
I think baby carriers are either the kind of item you never use, or can't live without - there is no inbetween.
Talia is 9 1/2 months and I still use my Bjorn all the time. She looooves it - and it makes my life easier when she doesn't want to be in the stroller and I need my hands. Yesterday I went to a gardening place that only had BIG carts that I couldnt put her in - so I bjorned her up - and I could still use my hands...so easy!

I love the bjorn, I use it a lot too.
But when she was tiny I used the ultimate baby wrap- it was a complete lifesaver. It is much cozier for the little ones.
I used it every day during her crying months- it was often the only thing that calmed her and let her sleep.

I LOVE mine. I use it mostly when we go shopping and I don't want to cart her stroller and a cart around.

Re: Baby Carriers... is it worth it?
Love the sling! Actually I have a few... DD is a fussy one and as soon as I put her in the sling and carry her around she is either content or falls asleep I recommend a sling by Sling Ezee or Over The Shoulder Baby Holder. They both have websites but you can buy one on Ebay for a lot less. DH likes to carry DD in the Snugli which is fine too...

I used the bjorn maybe 3 times with Joseph. None with Maddie. Finally I gave it to someone on the board.

Re: Baby Carriers... is it worth it?
HEEEEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLLL YES! Ok, I'm jaded though - the baby carrier was my miracle for those times Alex's colic was absolutely horrific. The days that were REALLY bad, I'd strap her in, walk her on the treadmill on the lowest setting and she'd fall asleep within minutes. I remember all the days when DH would get home from work at 5am, I was totally frazzled and almost at the end of my rope - he would put Alex in the carrier on his chest and walk around the house for 3-4 hours to calm her down. For me, it was definitely a lifesaver...

I have the baby bjorn and it is a life saver when we go out shopping and he gets fussy. I make sure it is always in the basket of my stroller!

Re: Baby Carriers... is it worth it?
The bjorn was my lifesaver when I was home with dd on maternity leave. She was so fussy and wanted to be held all the time. It was the only way I could get things done. Tomorrow we are flying with her and I am going to use it at the airport. I went to mega marshalls and bought everykind of carrier they had. Tried them and returned all but the bjorn.

Re: Baby Carriers... is it worth it?
I have the Snugli. I used it once with great success when DD was sooooooo cranky and dinner needed to be made. I tried it again the other day, and she wanted no part of it. I will be trying it again though.
