"Baby Coming Out" Party... Question

Michelle1123 mentioned this in a past post, and I was wondering if anyone has ever done this? If so, how did you handle this?
I don't want to have too many ppl over my home after I get home from the hospital... at least for the first 2 weeks - except for immediate family. But, I do want ppl to meet our son.

How would I do this? Official invites? Phone invites? Evite? ... Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

I really like this idea, but I don't want ppl to think this is going to be a formal party and have to bring a gift or anything.

Which Michelle? Chat Icon

If we do this, I would just call people and have bagels. I would say it is just casual, just so you can meet the baby.

Re: "Baby Coming Out" Party...

I've heard of a "Sip and See" - I think it's more common in the south- or at least that name is.

I am not crazy about all the visitors either and it seems like a good way to get it over with all at once. Haha that doesn't sound nice of me- but yeah I'm not really looking forward to the constant stream of people during the first few weeks when I'm like shooting milk everywhere...
