Ahh whatever...

I'm still buying a few of their things. Its not like I'm going to plop my child in front of the tv so much and expect the baby just to learn from watching Einstein dvds.

I also want to add I learned so much watching Sesame Street!!

I heard this before from a friend. I think she read the study.

I learned from Sesame Street too, but I was older when I watched it...like 2 or 3 years old.

Yeah, I've heard this before, and I tend to agree that they don't do much good. I've worked with children for awhile, and I can't say those who watch Baby Einstein seem any brighter than the other kids.

The Amer. Academy of Pediatricians actually recommends no tv at all for children under 2, for many of the reasons cited in this article. Children learn much more by hearing others speak to them, read to them, and also from their play.

I don't know if I'll always follow the no TV rule myself (kids do get mesmerized by it, and it gives grown-ups a much needed break), but I'd like to do my best to avoid much of it.
