Baby food - Are you brand loyal?

Abby is on stage one fruits and veggies. So far, we've been using Gerber and she digs it. There is a sale on Beech Nut that was pretty good so I went for it. In this economy, we are faring well, but we are trying to save whenever we can. We would rather use the money we save for other things for Abby.

Now usually, I am brand loyal and I don't like change. I had been concerned thay maybe Abby wouldnt like a different brand or possibly have some sort of reaction to something new. Both companies have been around forever and I can't imagine too many differences in taste, ingredients, quality or the methods in manufacturing, but you never know. DH thinks, she should get used to different brands in case one thing is not available to us.

So my question is, do/did you alternate brands of babyfood and if you do/did, were there any issues? TIA.

We alternate all the time.....I haven't bought too many beech nut ones...but we alternate back and forth between gerber and earths best. Depends on what kinds they have when I go to the store.

ETA: Kaydyn never had any issues switching back and forth.

I haven't started baby foods yet, but a friend of mine who has an 11 month old loves Earth's Best. She finds coupons for it all the time.

I did at times just b/c some brands made kinds that others didnt, or couldnt find certain foods in one brand but found in another. But it was short lived b/c dd liked earths best fruits, and gerber organic meats..
She didnt like meats or fruits from the other brands so then became brand loyal.

Well if Abby is anything like me, she'll eat just about anything. Though I am loyal to Kraft Singles, Hellman's mayo and Heinz Ketchup.

Slow down MOMFIA, I don't feed Abby ketchup - only wasabe. It clears her congestion in a snap

We are brand loyal when it comes to DD's food. She loves her gerber and has been on it now for the last 11 months or so.

I understand about saving money, but I also like to buy what I know DD likes. I think it would cost us more in the long run if we tried to switch and she didn't eat it, KWIM?

I switch between Gerber, Beech nut and earth's best-without issue. I buy what is on sale or what I have coupons for.

I was not a big baby food person but what I did buy I did switch...I never found one to be superior over the other...it was like anything else really..

For Caden's bottles Beechnut's Rice Cereal was far superior to Gerbers or Earths Best..and Beechnuts Peaches are too tart...

But that's like anything else..it's trial and error...you but Heinz b/c you prefer that brand to others and that's because you've had Hunts and it just doesnt tast as good...

We are brand loyal....it is Gerber all the way for us.

I tried Earth's Best and she didn't really like it.

Beechnut is ok when I am desperate and Waldbaums is low on Gerber.

I've been using Gerber mainly, but thats bc thats what the commissary on the base that I live on sells, but I would think switching shouldn't be an issue. Can I ask what your schedule is like for DD and how old she is? My DD is 4.5 mos and we just started some fruit in the am and veggie in pm. Just wondering how much/often your little one is eating? TIA

i switch all the time... though beechnut is really cheep t bjs so that is what we usually buy... and level 2 jars of bechnut are 1/2 an ounce bigger,,,

I started DS on Earths best at 4 months. but Then I saw that gerber had organic, so I give him both and he is totally fine with it, he prefers the pears from gerber over EB but that's about the only difference

I alternate between gerber, earth's best and some beech nut just because of the different varieties

ETS: DD did nopt have anyreactions but she does prefer the gerber oatmeal than the beech nut one

We use mostly Earth's Best and some Gerber organics and he particularly enjoys the Gerber DHA line of dinners - mac n cheese, risotto - those are treats.

We used mostly Earth's Best but we were definitely not totally loyal to it. I made some baby food myself and we mixed in other brands, mostly Gerber's and not always organic. The MOMFIA is coming to get me, too!

I try to use Earth's Best...l like the variety and the flavors. I used Gerber too and have been happy with them.

So far we've only bought Gerber for DS because I got a ton of coupons in the mail and, for some strange reason, Stop N Shop gives double coupons on the Gerber. So, I get a $1.50 off 2 containers. That's a great deal because they are .99 each. I was wondering this same question though Leslie b/c I ran out of coupons and I see that Beech nut has sales sometimes. I think I'll try to give DS the Beech Nut. I want him to be able to eat all types of food/brands.

I am brand loyal because I only use organic baby food and there isn't many brands to choose from. Well maybe now there is but when DD was on baby food it was basically Earth's Best.

I am pretty loyal to Earth's Best. I like it best for some reason.

I alternated....started with Gerber and thought I was going to be a faithful Gerber user until I bought some BEechnut during a sale and DS def didn't prefer one over the other. I always bought whichever one was on sale at the time.
