Baby Food Suggestions/Meal Plans
We're in a food rut. Jake gets 3 meals a day, and then a bottle before bed. It usually goes something like this:
Breakfast - oatmeal, fruit and 8oz bottle
Lunch - Fruit or baby yogurt and 6oz bottle
Dinner - jarred baby food dinner, vegetable, "fruit based" dessert like mango.
Bedtime 7oz Bottle
He is 8 months old. I want to start with the puffs as a snack, but what else can I do for him? I feel like he should be getting more veggies in.
And, when do I start to try sippy cups? Today, all he drinks is formula. I guess its a ped question, but I was curious. He kinda refuses to hold his own bottle...
Thanks!

Re: Baby Food Suggestions/Meal Plans
DS is also 8 months and we started the trying the sippy cup at 6 months. Just over the last 3 weeks or so has he really gotten the hang of it. We only put water in it. He sorta started holding his bottle the other day but he didn't hold it for the entire feeding. I haven't really done much to encourage him to hold his own bottle. I guess maybe I should
As for food, we're in a rut also. I feel like I give him the same things over and over again. We haven't tried yogurt b/c the ped said to wait until 9 months but I think I'm going to go ahead and start giving it to him now. I'm going to the supermarket today so I'm going to pick up some new veggies for him to try. I figured brocolli and zucchini.

Re: Baby Food Suggestions/Meal Plans
at 8 months we started peas and carrots (i buy a big frozen bag and cook alittle at a time), the mini pastas, diced sweet potato, cheerios, sliced banana, pancakes, cheese (usually shredded), chicken nugets cut very small, basically anything that i was eating i would cut up for him into tiny pieces... by 10 months he cut out most baby food
as for the sippy cups i introduced them at 6 months and gave up.. then tried again at 9 months and he took them instantly and actually gave up his bottles by 11 months
