Baby luncheon (Shower) Kosher Help!
I work with a very religious kosher Jewish woman. She is expecting her first child. people want to throw her a little celebration (we asked her first) We cannot afford to cater Kosher food but what about kosher desserts? Veggie Platter? We are looking for more munchy things to keep cost down....any ideas would be appreciated! My knowlege of kosher is nill! TIA
Also, if we did desserts, I need a catchy phrase for the invitations...any ideas?

Can you do bagels, cream cheeses and salads (egg & tuna) and desserts?
I am not kosher, but one of the places I work at always has this kind of stuff for their luncheons b/c they need to order kosher.

Do you work in the city, cause my co-worker keeps kosher and I can ask her where to order from & what to order.

Re: Baby luncheon (Shower) Kosher Help!
I would do bagels and such from a kosher place. It shouldn't be too expensive. But you can do kosher deserts.
If you are going to cater from a place that isn't kosher, you should cater froma place that only does vegetarian food. If a knife was used to cut some bacon before cutting the veggies, she may couldn't eat it, so a lot of religious people won't eat fruits or vegetables unless they know where they came from doesn't serve pork or shellfish.
