Baby photos taken in a store...a few questions

Do stores like JCPenney and Sears give you the digital copy of the photos? Just wondering if it makes sense to get Christmas pics taken in a store to use for cards.

Also, I always see coupons and the pictures seem so cheap! But i'm sure they have different packages. How much do you actually end up spending on photos taken in store when all is said and done?

Please recommend a place, and how far in advance should I make an appointment, how long do pictures usually take to get, how are prices, etc.

I used target for my DD's christening thank you's. I think they came out great... If you go on Thursdays its 50% off.

I went on Thursday and asked about 50% off and she had no idea what I was talking about.

I think all of the studios now have a CD you can buy with all the pictures however, I've been noticing that the price of the CD keeps going up. It used to be reasonable but now, even if you buy a package with it it's still expensive.
