silly questions-has anyone taken baby to mexico?
if so, what did you do about making and washing bottles? I've never been there, and heard that people get sick from the water? Also, do you think it's safe to bring ba by there? DC would be about 8 months. It would be for a friends wedding, otherwise I would never attempt this

We just came back form Cancun. My DD is 13 months old and had a great time. The water in the resorts is fine and filltered. They also have bottled water,everywhere. We took DD to Portugal in August and she was 9 months old and did not have a problem.

We took my DS to Cancun- as PP said, the water in our resort was filtered so thats wasnt an issue at all....
The one thing I tell everyone  is to make sure you have enough diapers with you ! Dumb arse that I am, accidentally grabbed the wrong stack of diapers when packing and let me tell you, finding diapers in his size was not fun!!!...All we could find was newborn size, and we finally found a store ( off the beaten path) with his size- but I was in a panic - LOL ...You can definately take a baby there ( especially to the resort area)- Have fun !

We did when DS was 8 months old. But we cruised.
You could always ship bottled water to the resort if you really were worried.
Don't forget you need a passport for DC!

We traveled quite extensively with DS1. I nursed so didn't have bottles to worry about when he was really little but when he got older, I would was everything in the sink in the room. I brought a small bottle of dish washing detergent and a bottle brush. Almost every resort now has their own filtration systems for the guest rooms.
To reduce how much you have to wash though, I would recommend using the drop ins. You only have to wash the nipple each time.

We went to Cabo this past summer, and like most of the other women have said - the resort that we stay at has their own filtration system.... it was safe to drink the water there.
However, you can totally go to the local supermarket and buy bottled water. I made all of her formula with the bottled water, and washed her bottles, bowls, and formula pitcher in the sink with their water.

My friend just went and she brought the ready-feed bottles from enfamil so she didn't have to worry about cleaning the bottles.

Just make sure it's at a resort with purified water and you'll be fine..... If it's not, I wouldn't go. Even if you wash everything with bottled water and use bottled water to make formula, you still have to bathe him....
(like the rest of europe, there are no water issues in portugal, by the way..)
