Baby Playing on Hard Floor?
The floors in my apartment are very hard.
We have a small activity mat, but DS moves off of it all the time.
We no longer have or want a rug.
I looked online and there are some nice foam mats, but they have to be put together piece by piece each time you use them.
Any suggestions besides using a blanket?

Re: Baby Playing on Hard Floor?
I have the foam play mat with the letters on it....we actually keep it together all the time now, but when DS was smaller (up to 1 year old) we just put a few pieces together and put them together/undid them each time. Not a big deal

We had the foam mats, but I didn't undo them each time we used them, they stayed put together and that was his play area

Re: Baby Playing on Hard Floor?
we bought a really puffy shag throw rug... it's very soft, and better yet, can be used in his room when he's older

Re: Baby Playing on Hard Floor?
We used the foam mats- we covered our whole living room floor with them - i only removed them when we had company and even then only "special" company That is the only thing that works as they start rolling around, crawling, cruising etc - the blankets move around. I cant tell you how many times DS fell or rolled over very hard - so glad for the mats!

Re: Baby Playing on Hard Floor?
We had the ABC mat from One Step Ahead in the middle of our living room for a few months when DD was younger. It was the reality we were living in, so I just went with it.

I had the foam mat in my office/playroom and it got to be too annoying - he was constantly taking it apart. I prefer rugs for him to play on.

Re: Baby Playing on Hard Floor?
We have hardwood floors.
When Ryan was old enough to start hanging out on the floor we just bought a nice but cheap area rug from Lowes.
