Baby-shower books instead of cards
My friend was telling me about doing a book well instead of cards...like people bringing books instead of cards and I love that idea
How would I express that in my invitation and not sound rude?

Re: Baby-shower books instead of cards
My sister just got an invitation for that and the little poem on a separate card was cute. I just called her to read it to me and she already threw it away! Maybe you can do a google for baby book wishing well poem or something. Or I'm sure someone will turn something up.

Re: Baby-shower books instead of cards
I went to a shower about a year ago and the invitation mentioned "wishing well" and asked that we bring a book to start a library for the baby. I don't remember the exact wording, but we filled a bassinet with books. I thought it was so cute!

Re: Baby-shower books instead of cards
I am doing this for my shower and on a separate card which had the registry information there is a saying. I am not sure of the exact words but can post them when I get home.

I think my invite said 'In Lieu of a Wishing Well, please bring your favorite Children's Book to help begin Baby K's Library" ...........or something like that -

Re: Baby-shower books instead of cards
I know I had a bunch of them, but I do know some of them are listed on the related threads at the bottom. I can't seem to find the one that was used at my shower though

Re: Baby-shower books instead of cards
Both my co-worker and family/friends showers requested books for the baby with an inscription inside from the guest
It is so nice to have all these sweet notes to us and the baby and we got a TON of books- I think we are up to 50 already and only had 2 doubles ( Goodnight Moon and Guess How much I love you)
My friend put " One little request that shouldnt be hard, sign a book for baby instead of a card"on the invite.
