Baby Swings
Leah loves her new swing (now that we took down the Christmas tree and have room to put it ), and she LOVES it. The problem is - she loves it!! She could be in it all day - but OHH the batteries!!! How many batteries should I expect to go through with this thing? It takes 4 D batteries $6 a pack - can't it just come with a plug?

Re: Baby Swings
My suggestion...buy the really good batteries as they will last a while.

Re: Baby Swings
They have 2 swings out there that actually have a plug. I bought the rain forest swing and it barely had a swing to it so we returned it and went with a battery operated one. They actually last a while - DD is in her swing for a loooooooong time during the day.

Re: Baby Swings
We bought rechargable batteries. My friend's husband rigged their swing with a plug but I don't know how he did it - he's handy.

Re: Baby Swings
I have 2 sets of rechargeable ones.... that way if one set goes down, I have back ups! Before my son was born my DH and I went out and bought a ton of rechargeable batteries in every size, and one charger that has slots that move for each size as well (Energizer).... it cost alot when we did it, but cheaper in the long run.

My brother is going to do the same for my swing!

Re: Baby Swings
It's not too difficult, but you have to be handy with wiring and soldering. I'm switching one of DS's race track toys from battery to plug-in this weekend.
Never bothered with the swing, since we didn't leave either DC in there for more than an hour or so at a time, so batteries lasted quite a while.
If you have rechargeable batteries, try and get one of those "fast chargers". I have one, and it recharges 4 AA batteries in about 15 minutes. Most standard chargers take hours. With a fast charger, you'll never run out of batteries if you have two sets of batteries.
