Baby V qualified for Services
now what? I feel like even though I remember going through this with my brother, things have changed so much that I am really unprepared. He qualified for speech, PT & OT. He did not qualify for SpEd.

Re: Baby V qualified for Services
Did you have your 2nd meeting to tell you what he qualified for? How many sessions per week, etc..?
Did you pick your agency?

Re: Baby V qualified for Services
This was what happened with us:
We told the county service coord. that we liked the agency that did our evals, so she started with contacting them to see if they had therapists available for the services DS needed. We were able to get one person from them, but for reasons I don't want to get into, we had a very tough time scheduling a speech therapist at first. Since she had a hard time finding someone, she sent out an email to all the agencies in the area with the days and times we had available and found someone that way. We later added services and our county service coordinator was great at finding us good people.
We have had therapists from 4 places. The ones I would recommend are Little Village, Children's Speech and Rehab and All About Kids.
FM me if you want any more specifics.

Re: Baby V qualified for Services
So we are having the meeting tomorrow morning to coordinate everything. We are going with Alternatives for Children - they did the evaluations and we really liked them. Now it is just a matter of trying to work full time 50 miles from home, and get V the appointments that he needs. I have to admit, I am more stressed about the scheduling than anything else right now. I want V to get the services he needs when it can have the most impact.
I'm sure I'll be coming here often with a TON of questions.
TIA

Re: Baby V qualified for Services
My DS got speech and PT at daycare until he started school. It's daunting at first, but the agency will work out a schedule that will work for you.

We worked the schedule out. Right now they are doing just the Speech and the PT. If the Speech does not improve his feeding issues after 3 months then we will add back in the OT.
