Baby's weight at 35 weeks vs birth weight
Does anyone remember how much their baby weighed at 35 weeks and how much they gained in the last month? I had a sono yesterday to check my baby's weight..they were concerned with how large and high i'm carrying. They measured him at 5 lbs 9 oz. already. I figure at the least he'll be 8 lbs if he gained 1/2 lb a week for the remainder of the pregnancy. I know everyone and every baby is different but based on your experiences how much did your baby gain in the last month?

I don't think my baby was normal, but...
At my 34 week sono he was measuring at 8 pounds 12 ounces and he was born at 38 weeks at 11pounds 8 ounces. I can't remember my 35 week sono.
Sounds like you have a very healthy baby!

DS "lost" two pounds between his last sono in the morning, and his C-section birth that night....

I think DD measured about the same at 35wks. She was born at 39wks weighing 7lbs 11oz. Remember this is an ESTIMATED weight.

That was a big growth spurt he had...but that's what I thought they gained until I spoke to my doctor yesterday.
Yes he seems to be very healthy with his chubby little cheeks that he has already...lol.

OK...so I guess he's not considered large at this point. They made me nervous when they scheduled the sono because they thought he was to big. Seems my baby is just fine

I put very little stock in growth sonograms. When I was in the hospital in labor and they gave me a sono they said she'd be about 7lbs... she was 9.2. She definitely didn't gain 2lbs in 4 hours!

35 weeks - 5lbs 12oz
born at 38 weeks - 6lbs 7oz (but I remember that per the sono they thought he was closer to 7lbs)

Re: Baby's weight at 35 weeks vs birth weight
I remember at my growth sono at 32 weeks my son was measuring 5lbs even. They told me that was total normal and not high (that was when I was convinced he was a boy since all my friends having girls measured in 4.5 or less at that point). He was born the end of his 37th week at 7lbs 1 oz. My first son measured about the same at 32 weeks and was the beginning of his 37th week at 7lbs 2 oz.
So the sono's were on target for me but I know plenty of people who sono measured much larger that what the baby actually did way (some well over a 1lb).

Same thing happened to me, they told my DS would be about 6 lbs and he was 9.5 lbs!

Re: Baby's weight at 35 weeks vs birth weight
I wouldn't go by that either - honestly - two days before I gave birth the sono tech was so POSTIVE that he would be between 8.5 and no bigger then 9lbs. She said she is NEVER wrong.
2 Days later - he was born at 9lbs 14ozs.
