Back at the Vet

I know I posted back about when it's... time to let go Chat Icon Chat Icon

So, an update is he's been doing ok. I mean he hasn't been crying. He's on his Prednisone and stomach medicine.

The last couple of days he's really not eating and just drinking water. He was whining a lot so I took him out and now there's blood in his urine. The Vet said it's a UTI and my DH is with him at the Vet now.
I'll keep you posted. I just don't know what to do anymore and DH won't talk about the other option. I get ill thinking about it, but I don't want him to suffer. Chat Icon Chat Icon

Update - well, I have some good news. The Vet thinks he's really not in pain anymore. She thinks his disk ruptured and that released a lot of the pain and pressure he was having. He can't walk as well, but the pressure is better. She can tell b/c he wasn't crying when she touched his back and that's the reason why he's not walking so much.
He's been crying b/c the UTI was painful. He's been peeing so much. Never had an accident in the house and he had two last night in the kitchen.
She gave him a shot and meds and she said he'll be ok. DH did mention about us not wanting to keep him if he's suffering, but the UTI should get better and that'll help him.

Re: Back at the Vet

its always a hard decision to make, ive had to make this call at least 3 times....

you honestly have to believe its the most fair and humane thing to do.... him suffering for your benefit is selfish.... i have been guilty of that myself also...
