I had the dough already made - left over from Halloween and frozen. I took it out the night before and left it in the fridge to soften. Then I rolled it that morning between 2 pieces of waxed paper so when I was ready to bake on Sunday night, all I had to do was use the cutters and go. I decorated yesterday.
