Back to School Sales

Last year (Kindergarten), I just paid the school to get one of those back to school supply kits. This year, I flaked and missed the date.

When are the best back to school sales? I feel like they should be soon. I know if I wait until late August they will be done.

What are the prices I should be looking for? My mom was an expert at getting the notebooks for so cheap. Chat Icon I feel like I need a back to school shopping guidebook.

TIA

Re: Back to School Sales

If there is strange things on the list I'd go now. Things get picked over so quickly. I did all of mine last week - one less thing to worry about so we can enjoy the rest of the summer!

Re: Back to School Sales

I think it depends what they need. I know what to get DD for kindergarten bc my DS was in it last year, so crayons, scissors, glue sticks etc were cheap at target this week. But I don't know what my DS will need in 1st yet, so hopefully they don't want too long bc when I went late August last year, I had trouble finding it all in one store.

But like I said target had a really good sale this week, I stocked up on markers, crayons etc for home as well.

Just thinking of going near that back to school section of Target givee me anxiety!

I'm hoping I don't have to add too much to the pre purchased bundle once the teacher's list comes home. Chat Icon

I agree re: getting the 'weird' stuff ASAP - Target, Toys R Us, and Staples ususally have good sales. For as much as I loathe Walmart, if there's one near you, they usually have things very cheap

Re: Back to School Sales

I feel like my district is the only one that doesn't offer this option of buying the supplies from the school?

Or maybe just not for K?

I only got a list to buy- no offer to buy from them.

I'd gladly pay DOUBLE the value of the stuff to have it done for me. I am not a fan of running around searching for folders and notebooks! Chat Icon

The district I live in & the one I work in do NOT have the direct supply list (love that idea).

DS' school sends a "suggested" list with teacher assignment in August. Then we get a separate letter from the teacher with "additional" supplies usually the week after the 1st letter.

I too want to get stuff done now, but don't want to get stuff I won't need!

My school doesn't have one either yet, neighboring schools do. I think it's a good idea since certain things are so specific.

Staples has pretty good sales this week. Pencils, glue, scissors, highlighters, markers, crayons- all on sale. Crayola markers are 97 cents and crayons only 50 cents! Just make sure you look at the flier before you go. Not all the signs matched the fliers prices. All the items rang up at the correct price though.
