I agree with this! Is there anyway to ask the host? I would want to know if it's casual or if they're trying to make it a fancier event (like no shorts or jeans).

I would wear a summery dress (I don't do maxi dresses but if you do that's perfect) and bring a little jacket or cardigan or something.
