Bad breath
Bella had a full dental cleaning 2 weeks ago but her breath is terrible. I tried brushing her teeth but that didn't help. Any suggestions? TIA!

Re: Bad breath
Did they recommend pulling any of her teeth? Maybe some are starting to decay.

Re: Bad breath
Give her some biscuits. That may help.

Re: Bad breath
Gosh JJs breath is kicking too!! He hasn't had a full cleaning yet though, he'll get that next month at his yearly appointment.
I brush his teeth and it doesn't help and neither does biscuits. Maybe some dogs just have nasty breath

Re: Bad breath
Is her face dirty? I know that sounds like a dumb question, but in addition to the previous recommendations. I notice that Fascinus's breath smells more if he is licking his tear stains..
Just a thought.
Hope Bella is OK

Re: Bad breath
What kind of dog is Bella? If she has wrinkles on her face like a Pug try cleaning them. For biscuts I recommend Old Mother Hubbard - Give Me a Kiss biscuts- they freshen breath.
This works great too: Booda Velvet Didn't work for Katie though becauase she is a crazy chewer and she finished it in an hour.

Re: Bad breath
One of my dog's teeth fell out recently...the vet thinks he chewed on something the wrong way - but DH & I noticed now that his breath doesn't smell. We think he had tooth decay and now that the tooth is no longer there, neither is the smell.

She had a professional dental cleaning shortly before she came to us though -- wouldn't they have noticed?
Thanks all for the advice. I'm going to talk to the vet about all of this on Fri ETA: Love all the advice and info I get on this board!
