Bad Gas- remedies?
Chloe has AWFUL gas.....
She was spitting up horribly for the first week -10 days ...so we switched her to Gentlease which after about 5 days seemed to do the trick. ( still spits up but less and no more throwing up)
Well it didnt last...She is having such bad gas pains all day and night. And she gets soo exhausted from being up for so long fighting it.
I tried Gripe water ( about on day 4 of that) and same with mylicion and they dont seem ( yet) to be helping.
I try to burp her often during a feed.
She also only poops once a day and has a LOT of trouble getting it out ( sometimes I have to help with vaseline and a thermometer)...
Is this just "colic" ...?
Any tips to help her with the gas? I figured you guys know them all?
Would you call the Ped or is this normal? i know all babies get gas, Noah had it bad too but she seems in pain so much. And I guess I'm comparing her to her sister who has no issues at ALL.
I am using Playtex drop in's and was thinking of trying Dr. Browns to see if that helps.
TIA!!!!

dd was like that...we later found she had a high palate...but she has outgrown it and now uses only nuk bottles, they give her less gas (although she uses it upside down from the way the nipple should be in her bottle!)

Re: Bad Gas- remedies?
When nothing else worked for my DD#1, I would give her a little bit (like 1/2 an ounce to an ounce) of warm water. I boiled some so it was "clean" and then kept it in a bottle in the fridge. When I needed it, I'd just warm a bit in the microwave -- not hot, warm. I think it helped move the gas bubbles along and break them up. With my nephew who had bad colic, we used warm fennel tea.

I bought at a healthfood store in St. James, but I would guess any holistic/ vitamin type store would have it.

Re: Bad Gas- remedies?
DS had similar symptoms at the same age. He outgrew it relatively quickly. I also used newborn massage technique on his tummy to help get things moving. He liked how it felt and it usually helped.
