bad posture - back pain. Chiro?
My posture is poor. It always has, but I feel it's become worse and my back hurts latey because of it (especially in the neck/shoulder blade/shoulder area)
My shoulders look like they are rounding, too...I've always had a slight curve of the spine.
What can correct this? Would a chiro help?
I try to stand up straight - but I have a big chest and when I pull my shoulers back, I look silly.
Any tips or anything?

I think going to a chiropractor might helo.
I'd also suggest doing exercises to strengthen your core muscles.

I would look for a chiropractor that specializes in correcting postural distortions. FM me if you have any questions, we use digital posture analysis at our office to create custom protocols. I'm in Islip.

chiro might help you in lessen your back pain but try to maintain good body posture all the time to avoid pains, you can go and concern this with the physiotherapist as well.

A bit biased here but PTs are skilled in assessing and training your postural muscles to decrease pain and improve alignment.
Chiros do not solve the problem.

For muscle strengthening I would try PT and start working out. I have the same problem (abdominal & back weakness with resulting back pain) Yoga has helped temendously but I haven't done it in a long time. When I was doing yoga 2 to 3 times per week I had amazing posture and No back pain. Now that I have a kid it was just too time consuming and $$$. My sister is a PT and has given me lots of exercises to do at home and it helps too because it corrects the problem. Also proper seating using erogonomic positioning helps too.... My muscle tone is at the lower end of the nornal range and I have lax ligaments so I am prone to poor posture. Without regular exercise, I experience back pain.
